Start Here: Who I Am and What You'll Find on This Site

Cyber security analyst and STM32 embedded/OT engineer. Daily threat briefs, detection labs and write-ups.

👋 I’m Alan Donovan, a Brisbane-based cyber security practitioner and embedded software engineer.

By day I build firmware for industrial and OT systems on STM32. The rest of the time I study how attackers operate and how to detect them. I hold a graduate certificate in Cyber Security (Executive Dean’s Award), I’ve just completed one in Cloud Computing & Virtualisation, and I’m finishing a Master of Cyber Security at Charles Sturt University.

What’s here

  • 🧪 Projects: my Splunk + Sysmon detection lab mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, Active Directory credential auditing, cloud threat modelling, and more.
  • ✍️ Write-ups: technical posts on networking, cryptography and embedded security. CTF and TryHackMe write-ups are coming soon.
  • 🙋 About me: background, skills and how to get in touch.
